BUZUK crimper roller

Here are the first technical drawings of the Buzuk crimper roller, a tool developed to work on permanent ridged beds. The design of this tool emerged from the “Buzuk” project (Buzuk means earthworm in Breton), which brought together vegetable growers from the Finistère region of Brittany, people involved in agricultural education and technical advisors around the theme of permanent cover cropping and other innovative farming practices.

These technical drawings correspond to the second prototype of the roller, the first season of tests having brought improvements to the initial prototype. However, these designs have not yet been validated.
The rye grass – vetch cover sown on several farms are now established. If everything goes according to plan, they will be at their optimum growth next May to test out the crimper roller and the strip-till cultivator.
